Softball State Tournament Spectator Information

Ticket Sales

Ticket sales for each session will begin one hour before the allotted session is scheduled to begin.  Each ticket will allow admittance for ONE SESSION

There are 13 Sessions Wednesday through Saturday of the state tournament at McCombs (UT) and 1 session on Friday at Dillon Field (UMHB).  Session breakdown is denoted on the Tournament Schedule (http://www.uiltexas.org/softball/state).  Each 5A & 6A semifinal game and all final games will be its own session.

NOTE: All games may not start at their scheduled times due to issues like weather, extra innings from previous games, etc.

Spectator Parking - UT

Fans can purchase parking in advance by going online (CLICK HERE). This advance purchase allows fans to park in Lots 113 or 114 located off of 21st Street and Concho Street just north of the stadium. Be sure you print your permit, as it will need to be displayed on your dashboard to avoid getting a citation. On-site parking is only available in the East Campus Garage, located at the corner of Martin Luther King Blvd and IH-35, on a space available basis.

Parking on several neighborhood streets near the Facilities Complex have changed and will be restricted to Residential Permit Parking (RPP) from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, including weekends. The following streets will have restricted parking-

  •   Leona and Salina Streets between Manor Road and Martin Luther King, Jr., Boulevard
  •   East 20th, East 21st, and East 22nd Streets between Leona and Chicon Streets.

Signs simply says “RPP” and “No Parking”.  You will be ticketed by the Austin Police Department for parking in an RPP area.

Spectator Parking - UMHB

Parking at Dillon Field (UMHB) is free of charge.

 

Weather

Please be advised that during the tournament the weather may be extremely warm and the spectator stands are exposed to direct sunlight. Please plan accordingly by bringing sunscreen, a hat, and/or one empty water bottle per person to be refilled in the stadium.  

Conduct

Fans, coaches and players shall observe good sportsmanship at all times.

Red & Charline McCombs Field-UT
CLEAR BAG POLICY

Please note a clear bag policy is in effect at McCombs Field. All bags larger than 4.5" x 6.5", including purses and diaper bags, must be clear plastic and no larger than 12" x 6" x 12". For more details, please visit TexasSports.com/clearbag.

Dee Dillon Field-UMHB
Spectators will be allowed to bring lawn chairs into Dee Dillon Field.

Prohibited Items

The following items are not allowed at McCombs Field:

  • Alcoholic beverages
  • Banners
  • Beverage containers (except for one empty water bottle per person)
  • Cameras (with professional, detachable long-lenses)
  • Coolers
  • Food
  • Flagpoles
  • Tripods

Pets

Only service dogs are permitted inside Red & Charline McCombs Field and Dee Dillon Field.  Any other type of animal is not permitted. The service dog should be wearing identifiable attire and be harnessed or tethered in some fashion.  For the UT Animals on Campus policy, visit https://policies.utexas.edu/policies/animals-campus.

Programs/T-shirts

Programs and t-shirts will be on sale throughout the tournament. 

Signs

Signs, flags or banners are not permitted in the stadium. No signs, flags or banners of any size may be affixed to the facility. Items that can be held by one individual, reflect good sportsmanship, and do not block the view of other ticket patrons may be permitted.

Noisemakers

Only homemade handheld noisemakers will be allowed.  No artificial noisemakers will be allowed.

Photos

1st Photo Texas is the official photographer for UIL.  Game photos can be ordered through their website, www.1stphototexas.com.   

Awards Presentation

Teams that do not advance to the finals will receive a trophy for the school and bronze medals. The UIL Staff will make a short presentation on the field following each semi-final game.  The state champion and runner-up teams will receive awards and should be ready for the ceremony as soon as the championship game is over. Both teams should line up on their respective sidelines to be draped.
