Sept. 17 is the first Student Activities Conference for the 2011-12 school year. Each year, conferences are held around the state to provide a crash course on all things academic related. The conferences are designed to help high school students and sponsors begin to prepare for spring contests. This week the conference will be held in Lubbock on the campus of Texas Tech University.
All Student Activities Conferences are free and there’s no pre-registration necessary. All conferences will begin at 9 a.m. and will end by 1:30 p.m. Students may choose from novice and advanced sessions in some academic areas, as well as small-group sessions in specific UIL activities. More information on the conferences as well as future dates and locations can be found on the UIL website at http://www.uiltexas.org/academics/student-activity-conferences.
