C. Mark Chassay, MD, MBA, Family and Sports Medicine (Houston),Dr. Chassay has a bachelor’s degree from The University of Texas at Austin, a medical degree from The University of Texas Medical School at Houston and a master’s degree in executive healthcare business administration from The University of Texas at Dallas.  Dr. Chassay previously served as Head Team Physician/Chief Medical Officer at the University of Texas at Austin Intercollegiate Athletics. He Currently works at the IRONMAN Sports Medicine Institute and at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.
D.W. Rutledge, Texas High School Coaches Association (Austin), Mr. Rutledge, a graduate of Texas Lutheran College and North Dakota State University, is Executive Director of the Texas High School Coaches Association. He began his 26-year coaching career at San Marcos High School, and was the Head Football Coach and Athletic Coordinator for Converse Judson ISD the last 17 years. He is past president of the 21,000 member Texas High School Coaches Association, and has coached four State Championship teams.

Jesse C. DeLee, MD, Orthopedic Surgeon (San Antonio) Chairman. After completing his orthopedic training at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Dr. DeLee took part in a fellowship on hip surgery at the John Charnley Wrightington Centre in Great Britain.  He has been the director of Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Fellowship at University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio since 1989.   He is currently the team physician for St. Mary's University, Clark High School, John Jay High School, and Sam Houston High School. DeLee is also the co-editor of Orthopaedic Sports Medicine.

John Seals, MD, Pediatric Neurologist (San Antonio), Dr. Seals attended The University of Texas, Austin on a football scholarship, then went to Baylor University College of Medicine, Houston. He did his internship and residency in pediatrics at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia followed by his residency in neurology as a Harvard fellow in neurology and pathology at The Massachusetts’ General Hospital, Boston. He returned to Texas to serve in the Air Force before joining the faculty of University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio. He subsequently entered into the private practice of Pediatric Neurology in San Antonio. He has a special interest in sports neurology, especially the evaluation and management of concussions.

Valerie Duran, ATC, LAT, Athletic Trainer (Fort Worth), Valerie earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training from the University of Texas in Arlington.  She was an athletic trainer at Midland High School for 5 years before taking the Head Athletic Trainer position with an Alaskan professional indoor football tea, the Fairbanks Grizzlies, for four seasons. Valerie is currently an athletic trainer at North Crowley High School.

William Schneider

William Schneider, M.S., A.T., Athletic Trainer (Midland), Mr. Schneider attended Texas Tech University receiving his bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and Health, specializing in athletic training. He also received his master’s degree from Texas Tech in Sports Medicine. During his professional career he has been employed by the San Francisco 49’ers, the Houston Gamblers, and served as the head athletic trainer and associate professor at Howard Payne University. Since 1990, he has resided and worked for Midland ISD. He served 18 years at Midland Senior High and 10 years at Midland Lee where he was fortunate to have served as the head athletic trainer for the three-time state champion Lee Rebel football team. In 2018 Hondo joined the Urgent Orthopedic Specialist team after serving 35 years as a professional athletic trainer. Hondo has served on the Board of Directors of the Texas State Athletic Trainers Association, was a long-time member of the National Athletic Trainers Association and the Southwest Athletic Trainers Association.

Arnold Fenrich
Arnold Fenrich, Jr., MD, Pediatric Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist (Austin), Dr. Fenrich graduated from Medical School at the University of Pittsburgh (1985) and completed his Pediatric Residency at the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh (1988). He completed his Pediatric Cardiology Fellowship and Pediatric Electrophysiology Fellowship at Texas Children's Hospital and Baylor College of Medicine.  Dr. Fenrich was on staff at Texas Children's Hospital and an assistant professor at Baylor College of Medicine until 2006.  He is now with Children's Cardiology Associates of Austin and is an adjunct assistant professor at UT Southwestern.

Michael Stephens, LAT, Athletic Trainer (Bellville), Mr. Stephens has been a licensed athletic trainer for over 44 years in Texas.  He has served on numerous boards and committees including 22 years on the Advisory Board of Athletic Trainers, ont eh NATA Governmental Affairs Committee for 12 years, and Executive Director for the Texas State Athletic Trainers Association for 15 years.  He served as a head athletic trainer at the University of Texas at Austin and has been inducted to numerous Hall of Fames.

Marian Hendricks, D.O., Family Physician (Corpus Christi), Dr. Hendricks is a graduate of the University of Arizona and the Kirksville college of Osteopathic Medicine (Kirksville, Missouri).  She is a family physician in Corpus Christi with an emphasis in osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT), sports medicine, and chronic disease care.  She is a team physician with the Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi Islanders.

Cary Tanamachi, MD, Orthopedic Surgeon (Mesquite), Dr. Tanamachi is a graduate of Baylor University and the University of Texas Medical Center at San Antonio. He is an orthopedic surgeon at the Mesquite Orthopedic Clinic, and is on staff at Dallas Regional Medical Center. Dr. Tanamachi is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the Texas Sports Medicine Society, the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, and is a Mesquite ISD School Board Member.

Albert C. Hergenroeder, MD, Sports Medicine Physician (Houston), A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, Dr. Hergenroeder is currently the Chief of Adolescent Medicine and Sports Medicine of the Texas Children's Hospital. He is also Head of the Adolescent Medicine and Sports Medicine Section at Baylor College of Medicine. He was editor of American Academy of Pediatrics Adolescent Health Update, is a Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine and American Academy of Pediatrics, and was recognized with the American Academy of Pediatrics Committee on Sports Medicine and Fitness 2012 Thomas E Shaffer award. 

Sam Tipton Texas Girls Coaches Association (Austin), Tipton graduated from Baptist Christian College in Shreveport, LA with a BA in education. He taught, coached and was an athletic administrator in public schools for 24 years.  He is a strong advocate and sought after speaker on girls’ athletics. He was inducted into the Texas Basketball Hall of Fame in 2008 and won the NFHS Citation Award in 2011.

John Puig II, MD, Family Medicine Physician (Laredo), Dr. Puig, is a Family Medicine Physician specializing in Sports Medicine. Since graduating from the University of Texas Health Science in San Antonio, he moved to Laredo where he is the proprietor of Laredo Sports Medicine Clinic as well as the Team Physician for most athletic organizations from the high school level to the pros. He has dedicated his life to the treatment of sports related injuries and is always on the cutting edge of medicine.  He is Board Certified for both Family Medicine and Sports Medicine.

DeAnn Koehler, MS, LAT, ATC, CSC, Athletic Trainer (Austin). DeAnn Koehler works with the women's volleyball and women's golf programs for the University of Texas at Austin. She came to Texas in August of 1998 from the University of Georgia where she had served as head women's athletic trainer since 1996. Koehler is a graduate of Fort Hays State University where she received her bachelor's degree magna cum laude in health and physical education with an emphasis in athletic training. Koehler then received her master's degree in physical education/athletic training from Old Dominion.
