Can post-season contests be broadcast as part of the NFHS Network School Broadcast Program?

Yes, NFHS Network SBP schools can webcast a post-season contest live if approved by the UIL. Submit the School Telecast Request Form at least two days prior to the contest to be considered for approval. Not all requests will be approved.

Do I need permission to do an NFHS Network SBP telecast of a regular season contest?
Yes. To do a telecast of a contest that occurs during the regular season, you must get prior approval from all schools involved. If the event is occurring at a neutral site where neither team plays its regular home games, you must also get approval from the venue.
Can a regular season football game be broadcast live on Friday as part of the NFHS Network School Broadcast Program?
No, a football contest that takes place on a Friday during the regular season may not be telecast or webcast live. A tape-delayed telecast of a contest on Friday is permitted, but may not be available until one hour after the completion of the contest. A live telecast can take place on any other day of the week.
Does an NFHS Network School Broadcast telecast qualify as an Academic Telecast?
No. Since the NFHS Network is a subscription service and a fundraising tool for schools, a telecast within the SBP does not qualify as an Academic Telecast.

Academic Telecast Definition: An Academic Telecast is a television broadcast with an educational purpose that is produced solely by a UIL-member school and/or school district primarily using school facilities, equipment, staff and students without any commercial relationship for the financial benefit of another party. An Academic Telecast may be aired no earlier than noon CST on Sunday following the date of the game.

Are there telecast restrictions on other team sports during the regular season?
No. The only sport with telecast restrictions during the regular season is football. Any other contest may be telecast live during the regular season with permission from both schools involved.
