AUSTIN, TX— The State Executive Committee of the University Interscholastic League handed down decisions on the eligibility of student-athletes on Monday.
Student-athletes from Liberty High School and Brownwood High School, three student-athletes from Irving MacArthur High School and two student-athletes from Elysian Fields High School were denied their appeals for varsity eligibility upholding the previous rulings of the district executive committees. After hearing testimony from all interested parties, it was ruled that the student-athletes changed schools for athletic reasons.
In other action, student-athletes from Liberty High School, Beaumont West Brook High School and two student-athletes from Freer High School had their appeals to regain varsity eligibility granted after the committee ruled that the student-athletes did not change schools for athletic reasons.
