AUSTIN, TX— Four out of five appeals brought before the UIL State Executive Committee were denied Wednesday by unanimous decisions.
The State Executive Committee denied an appeal by San Antonio Southside High School to overturn a penalty assessed by the District 29-4A Executive Committee to a Southside student-athlete. The student’s original penalty of suspension from the remainder of the 2007 football season will stand.
Additionally, student-athletes from Carrollton Creekview, El Paso Andress and Fredericksburg High Schools will remain ineligible for varsity athletics after their appeals were denied by the State Executive Committee. The Committee ruled that the students are ineligible for changing schools for athletic purposes.
In other action, a student-athlete from Pflugerville Hendrickson High School was granted eligibility for varsity athletics by the State Executive Committee Wednesday.
