FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

 

AUSTIN, TX— The UIL Conference 5A Division I and II championship football games will be held this weekend, December 22 at the Alamodome in San Antonio.

 

Saturday, December 22

Conference 5A Division I Championship

Euless Trinity vs. Converse Judson, 2 p.m.

 

Conference 5A Division II Championship

Pflugerville vs. Katy, 7 p.m.

 

Doors open one and a half hours prior to game time.

 

TICKETS

Tickets are available through the participating schools and the Alamodome. Tickets are also available through Ticketmaster outlets.

 

5A CHAMPIONSHIPS TELECAST

Championship Saturday kicks off at 2:00 PM CT with the Division I game featuring Euless Trinity and Converse Judson. DODGE DRIVE TO THE DOME, a two-hour show from a studio set inside the Alamodome, follows at 5:00 PM CT before the Division II title game between Pflugerville and Katy at 7:00 PM CT (carried in Houston on KNWS Channel 51 due to a Houston Rockets NBA programming conflict on FSN Houston). FSN LIVE, a 30-minute post-game show, wraps up the 5A doubleheader after the Pflugerville-Katy game.

 

MEDIA CREDENTIALS

Interested media outlets planning to cover the state football championships at the Alamodome should send all media credential requests to the Alamodome by the end of day Wednesday, December 19.  Please visit www.alamodome.com  for more information.  Credentials may be picked up at the southeast tunnel of the Alamodome from 11:30 a.m. –7 p.m. on December 22.

 

4A CHAMPIONSHIP TAPE DELAY

In addition to live coverage of the Class 5A title games, FSN Southwest also will show a tape-delayed telecast of the Class 4A Division II championship between Highland Park and Lake Travis on Sunday, Dec. 23 at 1:00 PM CT.
