Coach Nancy Walling of Pflugerville High School acknowledges the crowd as UIL recognizes her as the National Federation of State High School Associations' 2010 Sectional Coach of the Year. Walling has been the girls' head basketball coach at PHS for 23 years. She has led her team to three state tournament appearances in 1993, 2005 and 2009. NFHS selects one coach in each of its sections every year. Texas is included in the Southwest Section with Arkansas, Oklahoma, Colorado and New Mexico. Behind Coach Walling is retired coach Wanda Bender and her daughter. Bender was honored for her more than 900 wins. Coach Bender, who coached for 39 years, won state titles at Victoria and Jourdanton high schools and is a 2003 inductee to the Texas High School Basketball Hall of Fame.

Coach Andrews is the all-time winningest girls' high school basketball coach with more than 1,300 wins. Coaches Honored at Girls’ Basketball Tournament

At the Girls' State Basketball Tournament as part of the UIL Centennial Celebration, the League recognized girls' basketball coaches with more than 900 wins. Collectively the group of honored coaches has won more than 6,700 games.
