AUSTIN— The State Executive Committee of the University Interscholastic League met Tuesday to hand down decisions on eligibility of student athletes and issue penalties for UIL rule violations.
The Ben Bolt-Palito Blanco and Thorndale football programs were issued penalties for violating rules related to interactions with officials and sportsmanship. Ben Bolt-Palito Blanco was issued a public reprimand and two years probation. In addition, coach Jeff LeFevre was issued a two-game suspension to be enforced during the next two regular season football games that he coaches. Thorndale was issued a public reprimand and one-year probation.
Two student athletes from Malakoff Cross Roads were granted appeals for varsity eligibility. After hearing testimony from all parties it was determined that the students did not change schools for athletic purposes.
Two student athletes from Frisco and one from Alvin were denied appeals for varsity eligibility, upholding the previous ruling of the district executive committee.
