AUSTIN, TX— The State Executive Committee of the University Interscholastic League met Wednesday to hand down decisions on eligibility of student-athletes and issue penalties for UIL rule violations
Student-athletes from East Bernard, Humble Atascocita, Spring DeKaney, and Brownsville Hanna were granted appeals of varsity eligibility. After hearing testimony from all parties, it was determined that the students did not change schools for athletic purposes.
Student-athletes from Harlingen and Denton Guyer were denied appeals of varsity eligibility, upholding the previous ruling of the district executive committees.
Aldine coach Neal Perry was denied his appeal of an ejection from a contest. Perry was issued a public reprimand, a one-year probation, and will be required to complete additional training.
