AUSTIN, TX- A Fruitvale High School student athlete is declared ineligible, while the high school coach and school are issued penalties for violating UIL rules after decisions handed down by the Hearing Officer of the UIL State Executive Committee.
The Hearing Officer issued Fruitvale High School Coach Slade Young a public reprimand and one-year probation along with a one-game suspension from the first district game of the 2006-07 season for knowingly allowing an ineligible player to participate in a contest. Additionally, Fruitvale High School was issued a public reprimand, a two-year probation and was ordered to forfeit all games in which the ineligible player participated. Fruitvale High School was also disqualified from District Honors for the 2005-06 season.
